These Terms and Conditions apply to purchases and services offered through this website and govern the contractual relationship between the seller and the customer.

Antique and Vintage

Each piece offered for sale is antique or vintage and carries its own individual history, character, and signs of time.

Due to the age and nature of these pieces, signs of use, wear, patina, minor scratches, surface imperfections, fading, and other irregularities may be present. These characteristics are part of the individuality and history of the pieces and should be expected unless otherwise stated.

Photographs, combined with descriptions, are intended to provide an accurate representation of each piece’s appearance and condition. However, minor variations in color, texture, finish, and appearance may occur due to lighting, photography, and differences between screens and devices.

Each piece is approached with care, drawing on our knowledge, experience, research, and the information available. Descriptions may include information about an item's age, origin, materials, maker, designer, attribution, provenance, and condition. To the best of available knowledge and belief, each piece is presented as accurately and thoughtfully as possible, with the information provided in its description reflecting what is known at the time of listing.

Transparency is valued, and information will be updated or clarified where new or relevant information becomes available.

Ordering Process

The customer may select products and place them in the shopping cart before proceeding to checkout.

Before submitting an order, the customer has the opportunity to review and correct the order details.

After submitting an order, the customer will receive an electronic confirmation of receipt of the order. The automatic confirmation of receipt does not necessarily constitute acceptance of the customer's offer.

Those interested in a piece are welcome to get in touch with any questions or to request further information before making a purchase.

Conclusion and Contract

The presentation of products on this website does not constitute a legally binding offer to conclude a purchase contract.

By placing an order through this website, the customer submits a binding offer to purchase the selected product.

The purchase contract is concluded upon acceptance of the customer's order. Acceptance may be communicated by email or through another confirmation of acceptance. If an ordered product is no longer available, the seller will inform the customer as soon as reasonably possible.

If payment has already been received, the amount paid for the unavailable product will be refunded.

Prices and Payment

All prices displayed in the online shop are stated in euros.

The payment methods available to the customer are displayed during the checkout process.

Any applicable shipping or delivery costs will be displayed separately during the ordering process and before the customer submits the order.

Payment is due immediately unless otherwise stated or agreed.

Payment processing may be carried out by third-party payment service providers. Depending on the payment method selected, the relevant provider's terms and privacy policy may also apply.

Shipping and Delivery

Products are shipped to the delivery address provided by the customer during the ordering process.

Available delivery destinations, shipping methods, shipping costs, and estimated delivery times are displayed during checkout or otherwise communicated before the order is placed.

Shipping rates vary according to the destination and, where applicable, the size, weight and nature of the piece, with standard shipping rates starting at €12. Standard shipping rates apply to pieces suitable for parcel delivery, while furniture and larger pieces may be subject to separate furniture shipping rates.

Furniture and large items are shipped using a dedicated shipping arrangement appropriate to their size and nature. Certain unusually large, heavy, fragile or high-value pieces may require specialist delivery. Where a special delivery arrangement is necessary, this will be communicated with the customer.

Some islands, remote destinations and special territories are subject to separate shipping rates rather than the applicable mainland rate. This may include, where applicable, destinations such as Gotland, the Balearic and Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla, Corsica, Åland Islands, and other remote or special territories.

The shipping cost applicable to the customer's destination is shown during checkout before the order is submitted.

GALERIE LA PA offers free standard shipping on eligible orders over €300 within eligible mainland European destinations. Furniture, large items and certain remote or island destinations are excluded. Free shipping applies only where the relevant shipping option is eligible for the offer and is available at checkout.

Delivery times are estimates unless a specific delivery date or period has been expressly agreed.

Where appropriate, shipments are sent using insured and trackable services.

The customer is responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address.

If a delivery cannot be completed due to incorrect or incomplete information provided by the customer, the customer may be responsible for any additional delivery costs incurred, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

For international deliveries, customs duties, import taxes, VAT, brokerage fees or other charges may apply depending on the destination country. Where applicable, such charges are the responsibility of the customer unless otherwise stated.

The customer is responsible for ensuring that the purchased item may legally be imported into the destination country. Certain countries or territories may have additional restrictions concerning antiques, artworks, cultural objects, materials or other goods.

Alternative shipping arrangements may be available upon request. Please get in touch before placing an order to discuss available options.

Packaging

Each piece is packaged according to its individual characteristics, size, material and fragility.

Particular care is taken with fragile, valuable and delicate pieces. Larger furniture and objects may require specialist packaging or handling.

Damage in Transit

If an order arrives damaged, the customer should contact the seller as soon as possible and provide photographs of the item, packaging, shipping label and any visible damage to the packaging.

The customer should retain the original packaging until the matter has been resolved, as it may be required for a carrier or insurance claim.

Where applicable, the seller will assist with the relevant carrier or insurance process.

Right of Withdrawal

Consumers generally have a statutory right of withdrawal when purchasing goods from this website.

The 14-day withdrawal period begins on the day the customer, or a person designated by the customer other than the carrier, takes possession of the goods.

To exercise the right of withdrawal, the customer must inform the seller of the decision to withdraw from the contract by means of a clear statement, for example by email or through the contact details provided on this website.

To exercise the right of withdrawal, please get in contact. Return instructions, including the applicable return address, will be provided upon notification of withdrawal.

Consequences of Withdrawal

Due to the nature and value of the items offered, customers are kindly requested to contact the seller before returning an item so that an appropriate and secure return method can be arranged.

If the customer withdraws from the contract, all payments received from the customer, including standard delivery costs, will be refunded without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the day on which the seller is informed of the customer's decision to withdraw.

The seller may withhold the refund until the goods have been returned or the customer has provided clear evidence that the goods have been sent back.

For returns, the seller may request that the goods be returned using an appropriate shipping method with tracking and, where appropriate, insurance. The customer is responsible for ensuring that the item is securely packaged and safely returned.

The customer is only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics, and functioning of the goods.

The customer must return the goods without undue delay and in any event no later than 14 days from the day on which the customer informed the seller of the withdrawal.

The customer bears the direct cost of returning the goods, unless otherwise agreed.

Exceptions to the Right of Withdrawal

The statutory right of withdrawal does not apply where a statutory exception applies under applicable law.

Private Curation Services

The agreed fee for the Private Curation service reflects the time, work, research, communication, travel where applicable, and the knowledge, experience, and expertise involved throughout the search and sourcing process.

The scope of the Private Curation service, including the customer's preferences, requirements, budget, and the number or type of pieces to be sourced, will be agreed upon in advance. The overall budget agreed for a Private Curation project, including the curator's work and the sourced pieces, will not be exceeded unless the customer wishes to increase the budget.

The Private Curation service is separate from the purchase of any item located or sourced as part of the search. The cancellation or withdrawal from a subsequent purchase does not, in itself, affect the agreed fee for the Private Curation service.

Where the customer expressly requests that the Private Curation service begin before the expiry of the statutory withdrawal period, the applicable statutory provisions concerning the early commencement of services and the right of withdrawal apply.

Statutory Rights in the Event of Defects

The statutory rights of consumers in relation to defective products apply.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits or excludes statutory consumer rights that cannot legally be limited or excluded.

Due to the nature of antique and vintage products, signs of age, wear, patina, and other characteristics described in the relevant product listing do not, by themselves, constitute a defect where they correspond to the agreed or described condition of the product.

This does not affect statutory rights relating to defects or deviations that were not agreed, described, or otherwise permitted under applicable law.

Retention of Title

Ownership of the goods remains with the seller until full payment has been received.

Intellectual Property

All content published on this website, including photographs, texts, product descriptions, graphics, and logos, is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Use or reproduction without prior permission is not permitted.

Applicable Law

The law of the Federal Republic of Germany shall apply, subject to mandatory statutory provisions of the country in which a consumer has their habitual residence.

The application of the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) is excluded where legally permissible.
